Language tests and self-assessment tools

Your skills in any language can be described in terms of what you can do with the language in a given situation. Examples of such language skill descriptions can be found in the self-assessment grid from the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages used in the European Portfolio.

You can also test your language skills with tests and self-assessment tools designed for a specific language.

No language test is valid and reliable for all purposes and everybody! If you go through one of the self-assessment procedures, remember that the results only reflect a part of your skills. Only you know what you can really do with a language!
