Accessibility information

This section describes the accessibility techniques used in Lingu@net Europa. It lists the features included in the site design to facilitate navigation for disabled users.

Keyboard shortcuts

All pages contain the following access keys which have been set up for navigation when only the keyboard is used (i.e. not the mouse).

The access keys work in different ways depending on the operating system and the browser used. On Windows or Linux operating systems, use ALT + shortcut. On Apple Macintosh, use CTRL + shortcut.

Please be aware that different browsers provide different support for the access keys. For example, Microsoft Internet Explorer changes the focus to the corresponding link, so it is necessary to press Enter after the access key to follow the link. Others browsers, such as Mozilla, Firefox or Netscape 6, follow the link immediately.

Design and development

These pages have been designed and developed to guarantee conformance with the following W3C guidelines and standards:

The visual presentation of pages is based on cascading style sheets CSS , validated according to the specification of Level 2 CSS.

All pages conform to checkpoints of priority 1 and 2 of the W3C Web Contents Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 which are proposed by the Web Accessibility Initiative. According to this, conformance level Double-A of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 is achieved. The accessibility has been checked manually and using automatics tools.
